#LoveIsLove Pi Shawl

Donna Druchunas wrote the #LoveIsLove Pi Shawl (yes, that's Pi as in circle) as a fund-raiser to help families of the victims of the Pulse nightclub shooting in Orlando.

I purchased the pattern with no real intention of making the shawl, but by the time the pattern was released, the discussion boards had me hooked.

The pattern calls for alternating rings of dark (mourning) and rainbow variegated yarns. I don't like "rainbow," as a colorway. I looked at lots of other colors of yarn, and my partner kept saying, "not a rainbow."

So I went to stash, and found enough to get going. I have lots of a navy-tinsel combination, which works for Pulse. I am knitting single-color bands in a general rainbow sequence till I run out of stash yarn. I will finish in white mohair (from an afghan kit rescued at a thrift shop) and dye that into a rainbow in the outer rounds.
