So my son needed a desk for school so I went to craigslist to see what I could find. I picked up this desk for $50. It is mostly wood with a little bit of particle board on the sides but over all what I was looking for. I really hated the 90's stained wood color so I wanted to make it bright and beautiful. After looking at paint colors for about an hour I finally made up my mind. I had 30 different shades of blue in my hand but I am happy with what I picked. I sanded and painted this desk and the results amazing. But I wanted more than just a plain blue desk so I started looking for maps. I looked on Amazon and they have so many options. They also have wall paper maps by Martha Stuart. It was pricey and I was looking for something a little bit more reasonable. I ended up in this cool antique store where I found an old atlas from the 60's. It was a pretty large book and it was only $7. So I decoupage these maps on and I really just love it. I plan on redoing my husbands old dresser and a storage container that I got from Ikea. End results being a sweet boys bedroom set like no other.
