Marietta Ranch Renovation/Expansion

Project Team:
Designer: Brian Patterson Designs, Inc.
Contractor: Tailored Traditional Homes (Trace Watkins)

This brick ranch house, circa 1960’s, was purchased with a vision for the future including multiple renovations, to be completed in phases. So after completing some initial renovations to the baths, our client decided to bite off a more comprehensive project devoted to creating an open plan, a new kitchen, and a new laundry room.

The aesthetic was established taking the existing contemporary aspects of the property, and expounding on this to develop a modern design- incorporating mid-century lighting, contemporary cabinetry, and classic contemporary-styled doors / windows.

The following program was incorporated into the project:
• Exterior
o Replace all doors / windows with new aluminum-clad systems
o Paint existing red brick
• Interior
o Widen Foyer to accommodate new double French Entry Doors, incorporating new “gray limestone” porcelain flooring.
o Create open plan as follows: Remove wall separating Kitchen / Breakfast from Living Areas and combining former Laundry Room and Den into new Greatroom / Office.
o Demolish Kitchen and Incorporate large island at kitchen for food prep and seating, incorporating contemporary flush cabinetry in gray tones, accentuated with white quartz tops and tumbled marble feature wall / backsplash
o Construct new Laundry / Mudroom by expanding footprint in to existing Carport.
o Incorporate built-in shelving for display of ceramic dishware at Kitchen and double-sided display at Greatroom / Dining for glass collectibles.

Project Cost: $100,001 - $150,000
