This bathroom was gutted to the studs and the subfloor so we could design a functional bathroom for someone with special needs. The doors were widened to accommodate a wheelchair. The whole floor was gently sloped toward a floor drain so the occupant could take a shower while still sitting in their wheelchair. The sink is floating to accommodate the occupants legs while washing their hands or shaving. We also removed the existing double hung window and installed a glass block window. The whole room was waterproofed by installing a waterproof membrane from floor to ceiling. Grab bars and handrails had not yet been installed when pictures were taken.
