Located in an exclusive neighbourhood, the homeowner wanted a unique landscape that reflected their distinguished tastes, both in quality of workmanship and in visual effect. They wanted a formal landscape that would have ample room to entertain guests and relax in style next to a pool.

Occurring at the same time as a home construction, this project was built on an infill lot where flooding occurred regularly, rendering the backyard virtually unusable.

Additionally, the Town of Richmond Hill stated that the historic drainage patterns had to be maintained, making it necessary to incorporate them into the design of the landscape. The team at Partridge creatively addressed each challenge and was able to remove the wetland by elevating the grade and creating a berm while preserving the historic drainage by adding a swale and bridge for accessibility.
