Massachusetts Waterfront

Built in 1977, this waterfront home in Wareham, Massachusetts was in need of a full remodel to bring it up to today's building codes and energy requirements. Replacing baseboard heating with central heat & air, new windows, chimney repairs, new plumbing throughout, appliances, cabinetry and interior updates improved spatial and functional elements, brightened the dated interior, and created a comfortable year round home.

Note the freestanding range in the island, the unused space between the tall cabinets and the dated appearance of this 1970's New england kitchen. What? three light fixtures to light this entire kitchen????

This dated dark galley ktichen did nothing to bring the beautiful waterviews in. Poor storage, 1970's tile and formica countertops

Stained alder cabinets, marble counter tops, refinished flooring, stainless Jenn Air appliances and larger bay style windows bring this kitchen up to today's standards while maintaining the New England styling!

Jenn Air appliances include a combi steam oven, an induction cooktop, combination microwave/convection ovens, wine refrigerator, clear ice maker, dishwasher and refrigerator make for a great ktichen.

This dark, dated hall bath tub/shower definitely needed a redo !

Walking down the hall to the bedroom and viewing the bathroom toilet was a complete turn off !

Just completed !! Stealing some space from a former bedroom, hall and linen cabinet, allowed the water closet to be tucked out of site of the hall. A fresh coat of paint, new creamy glazed cabinetry, marble countertops and tile make for a beautiful guest bath. Now to add accessories !!

Cracked Saltillo tile flooring, dark paneling, a cramped shower- this first floor bath was a mess ! Another design goof - toilet facing the entry !

Small vanity with no storage ( open laundry chute inside to basement), cultured marble, dark paneling and poor lighting all had to go !

Just completed !The formerly very cramped & dark full bath off the entry was transformed into a functional, light powder room.

This large, unattractive fireplace was the major focal point of the living room. Pine wainscot paneling was damaged by water, and cut up with baseboard heating, receptacle outlets, and phone jacks. The chair rail at the top had sharp corners and was a definite hip banger.

Just completed ! Removing the old brick and adding traditional millwork, a honed granite surround and a lowered hearth created a more traditional feel to this long, narrow living room. Stay tuned for updates once furniture and accessories go in !
