Located on the shores of Lake Washington, this classically styled home is situated on top of a steep slope overlooking the terraced garden below. On a site which was once a sliding plane, the design team of Architects, Landscape Architects and Engineers collaborated to connect the upper and lower sections of the property with little evidence of the complex engineering work that facilitated the design.

We worked with the owners to create a series of garden spaces which allow the user to walk through a seemingly natural setting, and easily maneuver from the home to the lake terrace and shoreline area below. Through collaboration, a design was implemented which carefully integrated the home and garden into a complex palette of nature conditions and constraints.
