Smooth ceilings, new balusters and newels, additional light sources, and a beautiful feature wall of 3-D architectural panels makes the view of this living room from the front entry a stunner.

The view of the living room was, at best, uninspiring and needed to make a statement as the first room the homeowners and visitors see when they enter this home.

This big wall - so visible as you enter the home - cried out for special treatment. 3-D architectural panels in fresh white on a wall painted with Benjamin Moore Carolina Gull was the perfect response. The contrast with the black wrought iron balusters is perfection.

An old (and unsafe) curlicue rail, an unfortunately-placed lally column, and popcorn ceilings dated this 1960's entry.

The lally column right in the middle of the entry was previously a bit of an eyesore. Encased in wood and painted to match the trim, it gained an architectural presence in the space. Updating the newel posts and balusters with instantly refreshed the entire space.

Facing northeast, the space struggled to stay light and bright throughout the day. This was a good sized, open space (15' by 16'). It just needed clothes, jewelry, and a purpose!

The 1960's popcorn ceilings and curlicue railing did little to inspire design ideas for the homeowner. This large front room stayed empty for four years after they moved in and started their family.
