Mid Century Modern Walnut Home Office
The client required a dedicated home office with all of the comforts of an executive suite. Plans for an addition were drawn and the design process began. Required elements were a fully functional office including legal files, office supply storage, a main working desk, a second computer desk area, a credenza to for office equipment and book shelves for easy access storage. Additional requirements included a hospitality area with a bar, sink refrigerator, and television view-able from both the desk and the seating area. The bar is nestled between windows and tied to the surrounding cabinets with wainscot panels. In the seating area the designer selected a comfortable sofa to stretch out on with sconce lighting for casual reading. Directly across from the desk, a grey limestone tile wall features a wood burning fireplace which is flanked by custom built in bookshelves. Firewood is stored in a cabinet recessed into the eaves of the room out of sight. Audio visual equipment is housed in a hidden room concealed in the paneling. All the materials were selected to provide a well-appointed retreat for the busy executive to be productive without having to leave home.
