Mill Neck, NY- An Architects Study

this study is intended to surround the architect that occupies it with a neutral pallet with inspiring elements such as the hand carved site study of Florence Italy as well as photos from trips to Italy and France. custom book shelves where designed to surround the iron heating element embracing the natural industrial element it brings to the room while housing a collection of books. the subtle repetition of the circle is found in the round shag rug, the pattern on the window treatments and pillows, the cluster of driftwood tables as well as the light fixture. the bathroom opens directly into the room so fabric was draped floor to ceiling to move your eye from the toilet and refocuses it to the cluster of floor vases and the linear wall hanging- below the chair rail is a polished plaster finish with applied moldings for detail.
