This was a fun kitchen refresh project where we removed an existing wall to open the kitchen up to the adjacent sitting room, giving the space a more open feel. This allowed us to provide more cabinet space than the previous layout, and even gave us enough room to add an island. There was an existing pipe that previously hid inside an old soffit. Instead of putting up another soffit we customized the upper cabinets and built a small cabinet box above the window to give a nice clean finish to hide the pipe. Additionally, the owners opted not to replace the entire kitchen and sitting room wood floor. So to provide an economical option for them, we toothed-in wood floor planks as needed and put a transition where the old wall was.
