This project entailed gutting an older unit on two floors and re-imagining the space from nothing. The clients, a sophisticated couple, wanted a very modern space that flowed well for entertaining large groups. the space needed to be functional for day to day living as well. As the space is very open, Many of the less glamorous functions, are completely concealed in custom designed, easily accessed furniture or built-ins until needed. For example; the home office, which contains filing, fax, computer hook-ups and storage for necessary paraphanalia such as staplers, paper clips etc. is located between the dining room and kitchen. When not in use as an office it doubles as a serving area during social functions without any of the guests having a clue that there is a photocopier next to their canapés!
