Modest Kitchen Remodel

This 1920s bungalow style home needed an update with modern conveniences, but had no opportunity to expand the space. A partial remodel had taken place approx. 10 years prior to accommodate adding a dishwasher, so cabinet re-sizing on the sink wall was not an option, but we did add a whole new base storage cabinet on the range side along with a much needed counter top. Reworking the wall cabinets on that side with a new range hood also allowed for additional storage at a reachable level. Keeping the details simple and clean was key to not overwhelming the small space. A new vinyl plank floor replaced a loud laminate floor from the earlier remodel. We worked around some of the original architectural details, such as the charming niche shelves built in to the entry, to stay true to the style of the home.
