Mountain View Eichler-Inspired Kitchen

This customer wanted an ultra-modern kitchen, but they didn't want it to be too cold. They also wanted to incorporate some of their Asian-inspired pieces.

This house is located in a neighborhood of homes in Mountain View, CA, developed by John C. Mackay and inspired by Eichler. Eichlers were generally built on a concrete slab, but these homes were built on a standard subfloor, which made it easier to move some of the plumbing and electrical.

The cabinets are custom designed and made in Italy with built-in undercabinet lighting. The white base cabinets have a subtle zebra-stripe texture so that they're not "too white." The countertops are Caesarstone quartz in Sleek Concrete and designer Toni DeWaal chose an Italian tile with an Asian-inspired pattern for the backsplash.
