Mullet House

The existing house was a center hall colonial with a spectacular view of the Potomac River. The desire was to keep it "business in the front and a party in the back". Glass and entertainment terraces and decks were added. Broad windows opened the view of the river.

From the pier on the Potomac, the house sets upon the hill. Here the architecture becomes transparent, taking advantage of the views accross the river.

The main island has a granite counter on gloss white base cabinets. A high arc faucet by Waterstone serves a built in stone sink. Above the convection cooktop, a dropped ceiling houses the integral hood.

the new entry portico was the only addition to the front of this existing brick home. Shutters were removed from the windows. New windows with large lites replaced more traditional units in the same openings.

The main stair serving the center of the house is light and open, with open risers. The treads are floating on one asymmetric stringer. The rails are mahogany with stainless tell joints and connectors.

The Master Shower has a rainshower coming through the light from a skylight above. A fixed glass panel keeps most of the water inside the shower, which includes body sprays and a handshower.
