Natural Chic City Loft
Our client (single female) purchased this empty shell of a condo with the dream of living in a true loft that overlooked the city. Furthermore, her specific dream was to throw an evening party where her guests could mill around her loft with drinks in their hand marveling at the views from every area of her home. “Like something from a movie!”
Since our client was an empty nester we decided that her master bedroom should have the best views of all so we eliminated the fourth wall and made her loft tower over the rest of the condo. Her master loft occupies the entire second floor which is half the square footage of the first floor.
We achieved these dreams by keeping the floor plan completely open and facing toward the towering 30 foot floor-to-ceiling windows. The living, dining, kitchen, and bar areas are completely open with the only true room being the guest suite.
To accent the magnificent views, we designed billowing curtain panels that frame every bank of windows in the condo. And, so there’s absolutely nothing blocking her view, we designed sun-blocking hard treatments that completely retract into a hidden soffit in the ceiling.
Our favorite design elements, however, are the madras-inspired coffers in the master loft ceiling, the full-slab doors hung with EZY Jamb caseless frames with concealed hinges, and the no baseboard wall-to-floor seamless zip beads.
