Nelson Residence

This beautiful custom home was built from the ground up with the Pod concept of living. Owner Nic Nelson wanted a flowing adaptable information-exchange style of floor plan. Also it had to be bullet-proof. This home is just as comfortable in the middle of USC as it could be in Lake Tahoe. As it should be, the home has three usable levels and a metal standing seam roof.

Nelson Residence

The Fireplace Pod is designed to accommodate large groups around the perimeter of the room or smaller groups at the fireplace edge itself. This is a standard gas insert fireplace that has been wrapped with a California Gold tile in a radii to capture and reflect heat outward into the room.

The exterior of the home is completely bullet-resistant. Note the thickened side walls where the building is almost 13" thick. This was achieved using masonry block walls with an interior wood framed wall. The metal windows are all laminated which reduces noise and fend off the occasional bullet...
