Net Zero Energy House

Ground up net zero energy home featuring an 11kW rooftop solar array and mechanized windows. Thermal efficiency was maximized by building an air-tight envelope consisting of structural insulated panels and insulating concrete forms. The home employs an air source heat pump for heating and domestic hot water, which is distributed throughout the house via an in-floor hydronic radiant heat system. In addition, a heat recovery ventilation system was installed to refresh the airtight, indoor environment. Sustainable Features:• Diverted Deconstruction Waste• Insulating Concrete Forms (ICFs)• Structural Insulated Panels (SIPs)• Mechanized Windows and High-Performance Glass• Daikin Altherma Air Source Heat Pump• Hydronic Radiant Heating• Heat Recovery Ventilation System• Formaldehyde Free Casework• Eco-Batt Insulation• FSC Certified Lumber• Bamboo Floors and Star Treads• High-efficiency Fixtures and Drought Tolerant Landscaping• Solar Photovoltaic System
