Reinventing the basement into a personal New Orleans inspired bar space. We were able to use the old ugly bar and modify it into a nice clean and new space. Countertops were resurfaced right over the tile with a concrete and epoxy system. The backsplash was cut down, preped and accented with metallic paint and foils. A very large mirror was added above the bar on the entire wall, it really gave the room a lot of light and a different feel. The bar surround treatment was done with plasters in a 'Gator' finish. The floor was a concrete overlay as well, tiled off into large tiles to resemble travertine. A border was added to 'define' the area with hints of the clients love of the 'fleur de lis'! This basement area went from dark and drab to exciting and new! It was a great use of what was there, and a lot of rethinking the space.
