New Layout = Great Open Kitchen

This kitchen was stuck in the 80's! Complete with too many walls, a terrible layout, soffits galore, orange oak cabinets and a leaf themed back splash! By removing a wall and closing up a window (I know it was risky!), I was able to create an open, inviting and much more functional space! The client always thought her kitchen was tiny and her dining room too closed off. In actually, both spaces were a good size, just a poor layout! With some great materials and new decor, we were able to revive this tired kitchen!

I decided on white shaker cabinets for this client to make sure the kitchen would be as bright and airy as possible.
What a transformation!
This kitchen was previously closed off from the dining area. By removing the wall, I was able to dramatically transform this space and add a peninsula for bar seating!

In this kitchen, I completely redesigned the layout. The previous layout was incredibly unfunctional and did not offer enough counter or cabinet space. By reworking the space, I was able to triple the counter and cabinet space without increasing the actual footprint of the kitchen!
White cabinets keep this small kitchen light and airy.
Previously there was a large window where the refrigerator is now. By removing this window, I was able to make this layout much more functional for the homeowners.
A decorative focal wall lets the homeowner bring in some fun decor ideas.
This granite was splurge for the homeowner but it completed the space! Due to the movement and variety in the granite, I opted for a neutral glass back splash to tie the space together.
Gray glass subway is the perfect compliment to the custom granite countertops.
The homeowners never thought they'd be able to have bar seating. But I was able to make space for 2 seats!
Tons of cabinet space in this kitchen!
While the dining room is a smaller space, I suggested a banquette along the back wall to increase flow around the table. The homeowner loved the idea! Plus it adds some texture!

The built-ins are a classic feature of this neighborhood. By giving them a fresh coat of a paint and some new decor, I brought the wow factor to this space.
A banquette was the perfect piece to maximize seating in this smaller space.
