Newton MA - Modern Kitchen
These homeowners were entering a new phase of their lives. With children off to college, it was time to do a few things for themselves.
WKD was asked to design a new kitchen in a Boston suburb with custom kitchen cabinets, built in book cases/cabinets and gas fireplace in the adjacent family room, creating an adjacent kitchen lounge. They asked us to find space for a much needed walk-in pantry, reconfigure an out of date home office and create a mudroom. By moving walls and reorienting doors, spaces were reconfigured to provide the walk in pantry, a new office and mud room and a more welcoming atmosphere. A feature of this kitchen remodel was the unusual combination of a glass topped dining table, merged with the granite topped walnut island. The custom painted floor creates creates the illusion of an outdoor terrace done with Jerusalem Gold Limestone.
