This project involved the major refurbishment of a former industrial building into a family home. The structurally open floor arrangement gave us a great deal of freedom as to how we organised the space, often using substantial pieces of cabinetry to form room divisions.

We wanted to retain a number of the built features of the building, such as exterior glass block glazing and steel Crittal windows, extending these into the interior. Alongside these, and 'high-tech' finishes like stainless steel and polycarbonate, the palette was largely warm and luxurious. This juxtaposition of materials is a feature of Arcola's approach, and the results feel simultaneously sumptuous and edgy.
