Oak and Brass
This basement remodel in Milton, VT turned an unfinished portion of the lower level into a lounge built for one purpose: an escape. The design came together built from inspiration photos and ideas the homeowners brought us, until every piece felt like it belonged to the same room. The inset cabinetry is Cabico's custom line, rich oak stained for warmth, with a brass wire mesh set into the doors that lets each beer stein in their collection sit in its own spotlight.
Two Café fridges serves a purpose, one for beer, one for wine, and the beer gets its own dedicated section, built for someone who takes the hobby seriously. The same Cabico cabinetry carries the rest of the bar's storage, backed by floating shelves and topped in Dekton Laurent countertops that add a little edge.
Beyond the custom stein cabinet, the room opens into a lounge: a leather couch, a cocktail table, a mounted TV, and a dartboard, with vintage bar art on the walls. The perfect place to unwind.
None of it could go in until the space itself was ready. We waterproofed and insulated the unfinished section, ran new electrical and lighting, and added heat to make it livable through a Vermont winter. Drywall, paint, trim, and new flooring came next, then every custom cabinet, installed with the same attention to detail that went into the stein cabinet's spotlighting.
