A recently completed high-performance bermed-earth home. Designed for and in collaboration with PEA Builders, a leader in high-performance (i.e. "green") homes in Wisconsin. The owners desired to take advantage of a south-facing slope overlooking a central prairie within their property. They requested a passive solar earth home (and specifically one which did not exhibit many of the short-comings of its predecessors of several decades past) including solar panels on the roof. The resultant bermed-earth "off-grid" home is also designed with accessibility in mind, as the owners intend for it to be the last home they will ever build.
