We kept the essential elements of the original, medium honey-colored wood kitchen and rebuilt the doors and added lots of trim detail. We then painted the cabinets in a soft white that matches the rest of the trim throughout the house, making the cabinetry feel much more architectural. The full-depth refrigerator protruded into the room so we sunk it into the closet behind it to finish the lines.
