Our client's deck had been tiled with a new membrane just five years earlier. But, due to incorrect installation techniques, the tile and membrane had failed, causing the ceiling below to detach from the structure, and several joists under the deck were suffering from rot. The entire deck surface was demoed, and new structural repairs were made to allow for a new plywood deck to be installed. Using a tile deck system, laid on a new concrete board surface, a new porcelain tile deck, with epoxy grout, was installed. The metal railing was removed during repairs and re-installed. The underside of the porch was repaired and re-coated with a synthetic stucco product.
