In this kitchen, all cabinetry was replaced while preserving the customer's flooring, granite tops and tile back splash. The custom inset cabinets are an oatmeal paint color, with crown to ceiling and light rail. The kitchen side is mostly identical to the original, except once the small soffit and valance was removed, the window seemed short. We added open shelving to accent the space. The new island has two "tall" trash cans. Adding lights to the glass-door cabinets brightens everything. We eliminated the wall-hanging cabinets over the far peninsula to open the space to the dining room.
