Paint tile backsplash
Tasha, the author of one of our favorite blogs, A Designer Trapped in a Lawyer's Body, www.desginertrapped.com HATED her outdated tile backsplash in her kitchen. She had a tight budget for this project and originally thought of putting something over the tile like stainless steel, but the tiles were too thick for that to work. She received some General Finishes Milk Paint samples and decided to paint the tiles instead of replacing them. Check out these before and after photos. Tasha primed her tile first. She was nervous about the glossy finish and wanted as much paint adhesion as possible, athough our milk paint usually doesn't need a primer. Then she did 2 coats of General Finishes Queenstown Grey Milk Paint. For added durability, she applied 3 coats of General Finishes Water Based High Performance Topcoat. We think it turned out spectacular! Who knew you could paint a tile backsplash and have it look so great?! The cabinets are also painted with General Finishes Milk Paint.
