Palatine Bath 2
You Need a Bath (Like This One)
This newly remodeled Palatine bath has just about everything a homeowner could want. First the space is large. In fact it's large enough for two people to comfortably get ready during the morning rush. The vanity is "adult" or "back saver" height. That means it's the same height as a standard kitchen cabinet. Our customer chose cherry cabinets, granite countertops and large format porcelain tile. Combining the old platform tub and shower created a space fit for a king and queen. The new shower area has a seat and a custom swinging door.
We have a medicine cabinet in our showroom that comes down to the countertop and our customers just love it. If you decide this design element will work for you make sure you raise the cabinet off the counter. We did this by using a small piece of granite. The finish on modern cabinets is great but water is not a friend to wood!
Two final comments about the shower. If you are going to have a seat, make sure you also have a hand held shower. A fixed shower head sometimes won't reach the seat and they make cleaning so much easier. Secondly, custom shower doors are beautiful but remember they are not an aquarium. Water will escape, especially with a door that swings in and out. That's why shower mats were invented.
