Panama Penthouse
I helped the client develop the concept for this home, at first there was nothing outside and the inside was a shell. I got the Autocad drawings from the local Panamanian architect and I helped him to change this into comfortable haven which was relished in and enjoyed. The outdoor garden house was finished in the natural stone coral, the pool needed to be framed in, a garden built, the master bathroom was gutted and we put the clerestory glass so that one could see the view from the solid onyx bathtub. The interior was finished with coves to hide the ducting for the A/C, and I added up lighting and down lighting respectively; and we coated the walls with concrete plaster, which softened the finish and gave one a cozy feeling. All was monochromatic to create calmness, except for his daughters room which was all in the color of coral, and the junior guest suite which was all in ocean colors and the walls were painted by a local graffiti artist - his daughters room was hand painted, firstly I drew them out in AutoCad but the artist Trompe-l'œil'd the art and did his own expression of a garden of birds, it became a masterpiece!
