Patagonia Residence
AIA Southern Arizona 2011 "Home of the Year" award.
The way landforms are produced by the actions of weathering and erosion, this design is shaped by the prevailing environmental forces of sun, wind and sky. A rammed earth wall shields and anchors the house to the land and with outstretched arms, connects the two living pods into a home. The two pods are linked by a tranquil, protected courtyard, each pod gazing across native grasses into the horizon or mountains beyond.
