Penthouse – Highgate

I was hired to renovate a large penthouse in Highgate that features a wrap-around balcony and a spacious terrace. The project involved upgrading insulation and resolving long-standing issues. The original 1980s style was not wanted. My client had a clear idea of what he wanted, and JLV Design Ltd personalised the space by using vibrant colours. The stunning view, especially the golf course below, inspired us to bring that outdoor beauty inside.

The old-fashioned cloakroom was updated with a marble sink, dark floor tiles and dark wallpaper.

The gym was set up in the former guest room, with an acoustic wood panel installed to isolate it from the rest of the flat. The old wardrobe is still there, used to store dumbbells and kettlebells, and is painted the same colour as the walls and ceiling.

We chose to spray the kitchen with a lovely blue and replace the dark countertop with light quartz, instead of replacing the cabinets that are in good condition.

On the other side of the wing-shaped room, a corner was created by the fireplace where you can enjoy the lovely view of the golf course below.

A suspended TV unit was designed to support the large TV screen, with a side panel added to make it look less imposing.

This room looked very outdated with dark wooden shelves and old-fashioned mouldings. By painting everything dark, we gave it a fresh new look!

We chose softer colours for the guest bedroom to create a more gentle vibe. The rest of the flat has a bold, masculine look, but the guest room is a bit more delicate and features beautiful wallpaper.

A new walk-in wardrobe was built with two storage walls, hidden behind double pocket doors for privacy and to block light at night.

The bathroom was expanded and now features a bathtub along with a large shower with jet streams. The blue-green walls beautifully match the outdoor view. A pocket door was added on a different wall to create space for a walk-in wardrobe.
