This ongoing series of cow paintings, which combine elements of 20th Century Pop and Italian Renaissance art, is inspired by growing up in rural upstate New York. The title comes from something I heard David Lynch say at a film screening. The surfaces are distressed, revealing patches of underlying color, reminiscent of aging frescoes or peeling billboards.
