We wanted to capture privacy and the outdoor living area of the xeri-scaped front yard. A fanciful perimeter concrete wall afforded us security and privacy to utilize the space. 600 or 700 ft2 of grass, interspersed with a re-cycled concrete walkway surrounding a Redwood bench and an Olive tree, form the base elements. In the summer evenings, after watering the grass for ten minutes or so, prevailing winds move the cool air through the house by opening windows. This works especially well about 6:00 a.m.
