A recessed niche for seating and more display was created between two additional floor to ceiling custom bookcases.

The main room flows into a dining space filled with family heirloom country furniture and prints.

Throughout the narrow corridor to the bedrooms and baths is a collection of framed antique maps

A soft tradtional palette of beige, blue and green soften the contemporary space.

A muted but lively paisley was used to cover an old empire sette and carried through as the window valance. The bluegreen and brown ticking was used on the reading chair, with the rich brown velvet making up a large oversized tufted ottoman.

Old bookcases add warmth to the featureless room.

The beroom window valance fabric carries through the warm~cool balance of the walls and the rug.

Another wall of the bedroom juxtaposes and old chest with the a collection of originals from Artist Gwen Maleson, a friend of the owners.

Though the space is narrow, further storage and dispaly was added creating a very functional galley. The window overlooking the terrace is another of Mr. C's favorite vantage points.
