A small urban space under an existing deck was transformed into a welcoming patio for outdoor entertaining. Large irregular bluestones edged with reclaimed granite cobbles provide a sense of endurance. Shade tolerant plantings soften the space and contribute multi-seasonal interest. An elegantly simple privacy screen blocks the view of an adjacent parking area. 3D renderings helped to convey the design intent prior to construction.
