Pool Renovation

An outdated pool and outdoor living space was brought back to life with a makeover. Dramatic results were accomplished through the recent renovation of an existing 1970's pool.

The existing c.1970 free form Viking pool and yard area presented numerous frustrations to my client with the lack of space for furniture, poor traffic flow and it's dated visual appearance.

Boulders were introduced as a new design element along with a dive rock coordinated with the new stone coping and tile work. Low voltage LED lighting provides supplemental periphery illumination.

The existing covered terrace is a great feature the client enjoys. However, inadequate drainage and the mismatched brick paving as well as the requirement for a protected grill area and outdoor storage needed to be addressed.

The covered terrace was expanded to provide area for the grill, drainage was addressed and an outdoor storage and trash enclosure added. The brick was replaced with an extension of the exposed aggregate pool deck unifying the overall space.

Entrance gateway and adjoining trash enclosure area provide privacy and easy access from house and driveway accordingly.
