We scaled down the "mass" of the new columns to better suit the scale of the entry.

I milled up a simple cove base because it was not available off the shelf in an exterior-grade wood.

All horizontal elements were designed and milled to shed water. All of the components received two coats of exterior primer (all surfaces) to better withstand the weather.
