This work-from-home professional needed a home office. Taking advantage of a lovely view in Potomac, MD, this perfectly-engineered 8-sided home addition with built-in seating and an abundance of natural light was the perfect solution. A segmented project like this octagonal room required a great deal of pre-planning and precision to ensure the angles were correct and the space could be properly conditioned for temperature control. The family room was also updated and expanded with the relocation of the laundry room to another part of the house.

Designed by Don Savage and built by MARK IV Builders, the Mid-Maryland Chapter of NARI named this project the Contractor of the Year (CotY) 2014 Grand Winner for Residential Additions under $250,000.
