Pretty in Turquoise
DESIGN CHALLENGES ADDRESSED:
This would be the very first time the homeowner had ever fully furnished any spaces in their home completely from scratch, based entirely on her own esthetics and personal taste.
The client requested a guest bedroom that would be warm and welcoming for her family and friends during their stay.
Addressing the two awkward postage sized windows on either side of the bed were on the top of the client's list.
Accomplishing all of this while the 2020-2021 pandemic was continuing, proved to have far reaching effects regarding inventory levels, shipping times, back orders, contractors and related matters. This was one of our greatest challenges above and beyond anything else.
DESIGN SOLUTIONS PROVIDED:
Selecting just the perfect color palette was key in this space. The client wanted to add a welcoming ambience for all guests. especially the homeowner's daughter who just happens to love this special shade of turquoise blue. Accents of this uplifting color were used throughout in the softly textured bedding, pillows and playful draperies.
The walls, ceiling, casegoods, rug and other accents were selected for their neutral palette. The goal was to showcase everything and not compete with the main dominant color.
While wonderful natural light filled this space throughout the day, the client wanted to make certain it would still feel light and airy even at night time. A playful overhead fixture and two stylish table lamps were added to help create a dreamy vibe.
The two awkward postage sized windows on either side of the bed were on the client's list to be addressed. As noted, since this room was flooded with natural light throughout the day from its three front windows, the decision was made to remove the two tiny misplaced windows. The results were a clean uncluttered look behind the bed.
Regarding the challenge of doing this project during 2020 -2021 while the pandemic was looming : our suppliers, manufacturers, contractors and everyone involved were up for the task and came through with flying colors. We thank them all!
