We removed the bering load wall between the kitchen and the dining room. A steel beam was recest into the original ceiling joist structure, to achieve a seamless transition, as opposed to an obvious wraped beam, below the ceiling joists. Multiple other walls were removed. The back stairwell was removed to gain more room in the kitchen. The half bath was installed where the basement staircase was housed. To gain access to the basement, we built a small addition to house the exterior staircase making it the interior staircase.
