BL/OV took a conventional suburban house (in a spectacular setting: directly across the street from a large community park) and transformed the place to fit the desires of a client who wanted three things: 1) a far more open, more functioning, and less chopped up house; 2) a house with contemporary curb appeal and spaces fitting her art collection and sense of style; and 3) a place that that would welcome easy entertaining and comfortable "hanging out" of the family. While being strategic about configuration moves (major plumbing locations were unaltered and existing baths and circulation were kept in place) a 600 sf addition allowed for expanded living and kitchen, a new owner's bath and expanded closet space, and dedicated office and ground floor laundry.
