Rammed Earth Home

The Juniper Farms project, is a rammed earth building constructed using structural insulated rammed earth walls.
Rammed earth walls are a structural sandwich wall system typically 16” to 24” thick, using local soils combined with 6-10% cement, the mixture is compacted on either side of a hidden insulation core. The walls are stabilized with compacted earth and rebar as well as containing insulation hidden in the centre of wall. Rammed earth walls create a unique and natural look that comprises of both the internal and external finish, which means there is no need for drywall or siding.
These high performance walls produce thermal mass and efficiency beyond other more commonly constructed wall systems, resulting in higher standards for energy efficiency and compressive strength.
Along with much more efficient energy use, the rammed earth walls provide an elegant down to earth look for your home.
