This project is a second home for a family of horse lovers in Rancho Santa Fe. The aim was to develop a remodel plan that modernized an otherwise typical gated ranch community home. We sourced very rare quartered black walnut flitch veneer in order to produce millwork in which grain could continue uninterrupted from floor to ceiling, and at the same time remain very harmonious and consistent throughout every space in the home.
The island is a custom design and fabrication done in collaboration with the interior designer, with whom we work regularly. Additionally, raw flitch veneer was sourced specifically for the custom dining table, also produced by our craftsmen especially for the client.
