In this small, main floor, powder room update we used a 12" porcelain tile set on the diagonal to give a more spacious feel. To add some detail and interest to this plain space, we designed a tiled area rug in front of the sink with a slate mosaic tile and border. By bringing this same slate tile up to the mirror area we were able to add interest and function as well as unifying the space. A smaller scaled toilet was used to allow more space. Adding a furniture style vanity, with ample storage and rich dark finish, gives a formal yet friendly appearance. Contemporary lighting fixtures was used at the ceiling and around the mirror to give ample light. The room was finished off with a custom window valance and woven shade for privacy.
