The challenge: With 8 feet of sloping space surrounding a retirement community unit, I wanted to create a level walking path to surround the entire unit so that the client could walk and explore her plants. Planted with mostly small, interesting plants, I also included some specimen trees as the client was very interested in gardening and plants. A low wall was built to level the area, a path installed, along with irrigation so that the space requires very little maintenance.
