This is the second timber frame home Frameworks Timber helped build for this family in the hills outside of Fort Collins. The first was a small mountain cabin tucked into the trees, an unfortunate victim of the 2012 High Park Fire. The owners came back to us wanting to completely change the design to a more contemporary aesthetic with the house regrowing from what is now a hilltop meadow. This house incorporates proper passive solar design and natural light from three sides streaming into every room reducing the home’s overall energy usage. Modern functionality combines with traditional and natural materials to make this home incredibly comfortable and a joy to be in.
