When we designed this kitchen in Riverside, CT we created something new by re-working what was already there.

This was achieved by paying close attention to every detail. From re-painting the cabinets to rebuilding the hood of the stove and changing the hardware, we sought to add an element of interest to each piece of the kitchen.

But what really makes this kitchen stand out is the island. We rebuilt the island countertop, making it two levels to add visual interest.

In re-working the kitchen, we wanted to create consistency throughout the first floor of the house. The wood kitchen countertop was made in Canada with a special treatment that allows a hot pan to be put on the counter, without it burning. We then had the stain used on the countertops shipped from Canada so that we could stain the floors of the house the same color.

To weave the kitchen design throughout the first floor of the house, we painted the mullions and doors black. This strengthens the outside landscape and bring the outside in and eliminated the need for window treatments.
