Roosevelt Reconstruction
A two phase - reconstruction of an a 1906 craftsman home. Phase 1 involved lifting the house 3 feet off of its foundation and removing everything below the floor joists, including what there was of an existing foundation. A new foundation and lower level was built with a garage and studio apartment that takes advantage of the sloping lot and views of downtown Seattle. Phase 2 (3 years after phase 1) involved tearing the remaining upper floor and roof down to the floor joists and designing and rebuilding two stories above the new first floor that was built during phase 1.
