By the sink in this rustic hickory kitchen there are six open shelves that can be used for decorations. In the center of the kitchen is a small island that serves as extra drawer and seating space. On this island there is even a rod for towels to be hung on. Underneath the oven there is a large long drawer that can store baking items or muffin tins. On top of all the lower cabinets we installed white solid surface countertops that we fabricated. In this kitchen we built shaker style doors and slab drawers. Some of the upper cabinet doors were made with fluted glass to add to the decorativeness of the kitchen.
